Yijian (Albert) Zhang, Ph.D., P.E., is an engineer working at CHI with years of expertise in risk and seismic assessment, advanced finite element analysis, and the design of highway bridges. These projects include the impact of LRFD seismic bridge design for Georgia (GDOT), fragility analysis of bridges in California (Caltrans), and bridge resilience assessment with inspection data (INSPIRE UTC). Albert had also worked at an international structural design firm to design high-rise buildings ranging from 500 ft to1700 ft worldwide, and he has shown a proven ability to handle and oversee the design/advanced analysis of complex structures.

Albert received his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has published multiple papers in renowned journals focusing on risk assessment, earthquake engineering, nonlinear structural analysis, and soil-structure interaction. His research extends the knowledge of utilizing collected inspection data to evaluate the structural conditions of the bridges through novel modeling approaches for structural risk analysis. Albert obtained his Professional Engineer license in 2019.
