Liwei Han, Ph.D., P.E., is a Senior Project Engineer working at CHI. He has over 10 years’ professional experience in design, evaluation and rehabilitation of long-span bridges, and complex structures. These projects include multiple high-profile suspension bridges, steel truss bridges and segmental bridges both in the US and worldwide. Liwei has a broad and strong set of expertise in structural and bridge engineering, earthquake engineering, stability of structures, vibration mitigation, structural health monitoring, finite element analysis, optimization, data analysis, engineering software development, and advanced numerical simulation to assist unconventional design, retrofit, and forensic investigation.
Liwei received his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He has published more than 10 papers in his professional fields. His research work on global lateral torsional buckling of steel bridges has been implemented in AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications 2017 as the national bridge design standard in the US.
