Delancey Street Bridge - Hanger Tension Measurements
The tied arch bridge over FDR at Williamsburg Bridge, namely Delancey Street Pedestrian Bridge, was constructed recently, and has 42 vertical hangers, as shown in the figure below. The tensions in all the hangers were measured and analyzed using CHI’s computer vision (CV) technology. As videos could be taken from the bridge deck with minimal testing materials, the project did not require roadway or bridge closure. All the videos were analyzed using CHI’s in-house CV program, StructureVision, and the frequencies and tensions of all hangers were successfully obtained.
