CHI Awarded Landmark Bridge Engineering Assignments by NYCDOT

CHI Consulting Engineers is proud to announce that we have been selected by the New York City Department of Transportation as the Prime Consultant for two of New York City's most iconic structures—the Brooklyn Bridge and the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge. We look forward to partnering with NYCDOT to help ensure these world-renowned bridges continue serving New Yorkers safely and reliably.

For the Brooklyn Bridge, CHI will perform a structural evaluation of the suspended spans, including advanced modeling and analysis to assess the impacts of  prior modifications, and recently observed structural concerns. The study will support the development of conceptual retrofit solutions aimed at enhancing the bridge's long-term serviceability and resilience.

For the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge, CHI will evaluate maintenance, monitoring, and preservation strategies for the bridge's historic eyebar system while developing long-term rehabilitation and strengthening concepts. The effort will help guide future investments in the bridge's reliability, durability, and continued operation as one of New York City's most important transportation links.
