This video provides an excellent demonstration of using Computer Vision (CV) for structural health monitoring. The vortex shedding-induced truss vibrations were captured using a low-resolution cell phone camera many years ago, and there were significant hand movements during recording. By employing Computer Vision software developed by CHI Consulting Engineers, LLC, we successfully extracted key data such as the vibration frequency of 6.86 Hz and amplitude variations of ± 3/4" (20 mm). This example highlights the robustness and versatility of the CV approach.
